The Notion setup I use to run my whole week

A behind-the-scenes look at the exact pages I open every Monday morning — and why I deleted half of them.

People assume my Notion is a masterpiece. It's not. It's three pages: This Week, Home, and Money. That's it. Everything else is a subpage I only open when I need it.

I built This Week after realizing my old dashboard was a graveyard of good intentions. Now it has a simple board with four columns: Today, This Week, Waiting, and Done. No priorities, no tags. If something's been in Waiting for two weeks, I either do it or delete it. That rule alone cleared out 40 percent of my tasks.

The Home page is just a list of recurring things — filter changes, deep cleans, the dog's flea meds — with dates. I don't check it daily. I check it Sunday evening with a cup of tea. It takes eight minutes and prevents the low-grade panic of forgetting something important.

Money is the one I resisted longest. I kept a spreadsheet for years because I thought Notion couldn't handle it. It can. I have one database of transactions and one formula that shows what's left after bills. Seeing that number without opening a bank app changed how I spend.

If your Notion feels heavy, you probably have too many pages. Start with one question: what do I actually need to see on a Monday morning? Build that. Ignore the rest.
