How to Simplify Your Notion Dashboard in 10 Minutes
A cluttered dashboard kills motivation. Here's a quick reset to make Notion feel calm again.
Most people don't need more Notion features. They need fewer. I've watched friends spend weekends building intricate dashboards, only to abandon them a week later because it felt like a second job.
The fix is a 10-minute audit. Open your main dashboard and ask: what do I actually look at every day? For most, it's three things — today's tasks, a quick capture inbox, and one area of focus (like finances or a project). Everything else is noise.
Archive the rest. Not delete — just move them to a separate page called 'Later'. Out of sight, out of mind. You can always bring them back.
Next, add a single 'Quick Add' button at the top. One click to dump a thought. No decisions about where it goes. You'll sort it later.
Finally, change your dashboard's cover image to something soft and neutral. It sounds silly, but a calm visual cue tells your brain this space is safe. Try it for a week. You'll feel the difference.
