How to Create a Morning Routine in Notion (That You’ll Actually Stick To)

Stop planning your perfect morning and start building one that fits your real life — with a simple Notion template.

We’ve all seen those 5 AM morning routines on Instagram. Candle lit, journal open, green smoothie in hand. And maybe that works for some people. But for the rest of us, mornings are about getting out the door with matching socks and a coffee in hand.

Here’s the thing: a morning routine doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. In fact, the simpler it is, the more likely you are to do it. I built a Notion template that starts with just three non-negotiable actions: drink water, move your body for 5 minutes, and write down one thing you’re looking forward to. That’s it. Check them off, and your day already feels like a win.

The magic is in the repetition. Once those three things become automatic, you can add more — but only if they genuinely serve you. My template has a “Morning Menu” where you can toggle optional habits on or off, so you never feel like you’re failing. It’s your routine, your rules.

If you’ve tried and failed at morning routines before, I get it. Start smaller than you think you need to. One glass of water, one stretch, one grateful thought. That’s a routine. And it’s yours.
