How I turned my Notion into a cozy command center (and you can too)
A step-by-step guide to building a Notion dashboard that feels like a warm hug, not a chore.
I used to open Notion and feel a pit in my stomach. Endless databases, gray tables, and a blinking cursor that screamed 'where do I start?' But then I shifted my mindset: what if my dashboard could feel like a cozy café table where everything just makes sense?
First, I ditched the default gray. I chose a soft beige background and used muted blush tones for headers. Color is a trigger — it tells your brain 'this is a safe space.' Then I added a 'Today' section with only three things: my top priority, my mood (a simple emoji picker), and a water tracker. That’s it. No long lists.
Next, I created a 'Projects' view that shows only what’s due this week. I used a gallery view with cover images that make me smile — like a photo of my actual desk or a coffee cup. It’s amazing how a visual cue can motivate you to actually click in. Finally, I added a 'Weekly Review' checklist that takes 5 minutes. It asks: what worked? What didn’t? What do I need to let go of?
You can start with a blank page or use my template (linked in the shop). But the real magic is in the details: a cozy header image, a fun icon for each section, and permission to change it whenever you want. Your dashboard should grow with you — not be a prison.
