How I built a weekly routine that actually sticks (and doesn't feel like a chore)

A simple three-step method to design a Notion-powered weekly review that keeps you on track without the guilt.

For years, my weekly planning was a mess. I'd write a to-do list on Sunday, feel motivated for a day, then abandon it by Wednesday. The problem wasn't my motivation—it was that my system didn't match my actual life.

I started using a 'done list' alongside my to-do list in Notion. Every evening, I jot down three things I accomplished, even tiny ones. That small shift made planning feel rewarding instead of punishing. Now my weekly review is a cozy 15-minute habit I look forward to.

Here's the structure I use: a column for 'wins,' a column for 'next week's focus,' and a simple calendar view of recurring tasks. It's not fancy, but it works because it's forgiving. Try it for a week—you might surprise yourself.
