From Chaos to Calm: A Simple Notion Setup for Your Home
How I turned my messy home management into one beautiful Notion dashboard — and you can too.
I used to have papers everywhere. Bills, meal plans, repair contacts — they were scattered across our kitchen counter, a drawer, and my notes app. Every time I needed something, I'd spend 20 minutes hunting it down. It was exhausting.
So I built a Home HQ template in Notion. It has a few key sections: a dashboard with quick links, a chores list, a meal planner, and a place for important documents. The trick was to keep it simple — only what I actually use. Now, when I need the plumber's number, I open one page, not five apps.
Start by listing the things that stress you out most about your home. Is it remembering to buy toilet paper? Or tracking when the furnace was serviced? Create a page for each of those categories, and then link them from a central dashboard. Use a checkbox for recurring tasks, and don't be afraid to delete anything that doesn't serve you.
I've made the whole process even easier with my Home HQ template, which you can grab in the shop. But honestly, even if you build your own, the feeling of having everything in one calm place is priceless.
