5 Ways to Use Notion for Your Small Business (Without Losing Your Mind)

You don't need a complex system to run your business in Notion. Here are five simple, practical ways to use it — from a content calendar to client tracking — that won't overwhelm you.

When I first started my own business, I thought I needed a full-blown Notion setup: custom databases, linked views, automations. It took me three days to build and I never used it again. The truth is, you don't need a complex system — you need a simple one that actually works.

Start with a content calendar. Create a database with columns for date, platform, topic, and status. That's it. It's the single most useful thing I've done for my business because it gives me a bird's-eye view of my week without feeling like homework.

Next, use Notion for client tracking. A simple table with client name, project status, last contact, and next step can save you from losing track of where things are. I use mine religiously and it's cut my 'where are we on this?' anxiety in half.

Finally, don't underestimate the power of a 'brain dump' page. Just a blank page where you can write down every random idea, task, or worry. Once it's out of your head and into Notion, you can decide what actually matters — and what can wait.
