Behind the Scenes: Designing My Most Popular Template
A peek into how I designed the Life OS template — and why it resonated with so many.
When I first shared the Life OS template, I expected a few downloads. Instead, it went viral in a small Facebook group, and suddenly hundreds of women were using it. I wanted to break down why it worked.
It started with a simple insight: most people don't need more tools, they need fewer decisions. So I stripped away every non-essential. The dashboard has just four sections: Home, Money, Work, and Me. Each one has a few key databases, but nothing more. The design is soft — rounded corners, muted colors, and plenty of white space. It feels like a cozy notebook, not a spreadsheet.
The magic is in the little touches: a daily reset button that clears your checklists, a weekly review that prompts you to celebrate wins, and a 'Future Me' page that keeps your goals front and center.
If you're designing your own system, remember: people don't love templates because they're fancy. They love them because they feel like a friend who's got your back. That's the energy I tried to infuse in every page.
