Behind the scenes: Designing a cozy Notion dashboard
Why I chose warm neutrals and soft curves — and how you can make any template feel like home.
When I started designing templates, I knew I wanted them to feel like a cozy corner of the internet. Not cold and corporate.
I chose a palette of beige, sage, and blush because those colors make me feel calm. I use rounded callout blocks instead of sharp rectangles. Every cover image is a soft texture or a gentle landscape. Little things matter.
You can do the same with any template. Swap the default gray for a warm hex code. Add a cover photo that makes you smile. Use the toggle feature to hide clutter. The goal is a space you actually want to open every day.
Your dashboard should feel like a favorite notebook, not a spreadsheet. That's the secret to sticking with it.
